Purple PJ Set

For the free project in Draping 2 I chose to work with silk chiffon and lace to create a pajama set. It features an attached bra and panty.

The technical sketch above features the lace placement for the top and shorts.

I photocopied the lace so that I could figure out the placement without wasting it.

The lace had a repeat but was splitable so that on the left and right side of the body I could create a more flattering silhouette.

I marked the neckline on mesh with a basting thread and cut and appliqued the lace to it. This also helped to stabilize the neckline where the strap would attach and needed the support.
